Arrive at Imphal airport, where you will be met and assisted upon arrival. Transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the State Museum to explore the history, cultural diversity, and flora and fauna of Manipur. In the evening, participate in the aarti puja at the Govindajee Temple, the main Vaishnavite temple of Manipur. The timing of the tour and the number of sites visited will depend on your arrival time at Imphal airport. Overnight stay in Imphal.
Experience the thrill of crossing over into Burma (Myanmar) by visiting Moreh, a border town 110 km from Imphal. Cross over into Tamu in Burma to explore its bustling bazaar, interact with friendly locals, and visit the main Buddhist monastery. Enjoy a delicious Burmese meal. On the way, near Tengnoupal, enjoy stunning views of the India-Burma border mountains from 5,000 feet. We will also pass the Shenam Saddle, a significant WWII battlefield. Return to Imphal for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive along the Tiddim Road to the breathtaking Loktak Lake, the largest freshwater lake in North East India and a top tourist destination in Manipur. Get a bird’s eye view of the lake from Sendra Island. Visit Red Hill, a WWII battlefield, and the India Peace Memorial, the only Japanese war memorial in India. Also, visit the newly opened Imphal Peace Museum. The tour includes a visit to the Indian National Army (INA) Memorial Complex where the INA hoisted the Indian tricolor on Indian soil. End the day with a visit to Keibul Lamjao National Park, the world’s only floating national park and the only habitat for the Sangai, the brow-antlered deer. Overnight stay in Imphal.
Spend the day exploring Imphal City, including visits to the historic Kangla Fort, the famous Women’s Market, Saheed Minar, RCKS Art Gallery, and Mapal Kangjeibung, the oldest living polo ground in the world.
