Day 1: Arrival and Similipal National Park Exploration

Begin your journey early in the morning, departing from Kolkata (277 km) or Jhargram (139 km) to arrive at Jashipur. Upon arrival, proceed to the Similipal National Park Range Office at Dhobadiha to obtain the necessary entry permits. Once all formalities are completed, embark on a full-day excursion into the majestic Similipal National Park, which spans an impressive 2,750 square kilometers. Enter the park through the Kaliani and Kalikaprsad Check Gates.

As you venture into the dense forest, you’ll come across the magnificent Sal Tree, estimated to be around 340 years old, and a Champa Tree that has stood tall for approximately 300 years. The journey continues along the scenic Khairi River. Arrive at your accommodation at OFDC Cottages in either Kumari or Gurguria, where you can relax, freshen up, and enjoy a hearty lunch.

In the afternoon, prepare to visit the enchanting Uski Waterfalls, followed by an exciting trip to Chahala, a renowned spot for wildlife sightings. As dusk falls, return to your cottage for a peaceful overnight stay amidst nature’s serenity.

Day 2: Waterfalls and Forest Exploration
After a nourishing breakfast, set out for another full day of exploration within Similipal National Park. Your first stop will be the awe-inspiring Barehipani Falls, which cascades from a height of 1,308 feet, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Next, visit the Joranda Falls, where water plunges from a height of 498 feet into a beautiful pool below.

Pause for a lunch break at your cottage in Kumari or Gurguria before continuing your journey through the park. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the Pine Forest, marvel at the Orchidarium, and bask in the natural beauty along the banks of the Khairi River. Return to your cottage for an overnight stay, reflecting on the day’s adventures.

Day 3: Trekking and Departure
Rise early in the morning for an optional trekking excursion to the picturesque Asurkhal Falls. The trek offers a chance to immerse yourself in the tranquil environment and witness the untouched beauty of the region. After returning from the trek, enjoy a final breakfast at the nature camp.

With a heart full of memories, check out from Kumari or Gurguria Nature Camp and bid farewell to Similipal National Park. Exit through the Kaliani and Kalikaprsad Check Gates at Jashipur, feeling content and rejuvenated after your remarkable holiday experience.
