Welcome to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam! When you arrive at Noi Bai Airport, a friendly driver will be waiting for you. It takes about 35 minutes to drive to the center of Hanoi. Once you arrive, you’ll check into your hotel and have some time to relax. Remember, the standard check-in time is 2:00 PM, so if you get there early, you might have to wait a bit unless the hotel has a room ready.
After some rest, a tour guide will pick you up to start exploring Hanoi. First, you’ll visit the One Pillar Pagoda. This is a special place because it’s a pagoda built over the water in the middle of a square lake. It’s very pretty and interesting to see.
Next, you’ll head to Hoan Kiem Lake, which is known as the heart and soul of Hanoi. It’s a beautiful lake with lots of stories and legends.
Finally, you’ll visit the Museum of Ethnology. This museum is amazing because it shows how diverse and rich Vietnamese culture is. There are 15,000 artifacts from all over Vietnam! You’ll see maps, displays, and dioramas with labels in Vietnamese, French, and English. The displays show a typical village market, how to make special hats, and a Tay shamanic ceremony. There are videos that show these things happening in real life. You can also see a traditional Black Thai house that has been rebuilt in the museum. There’s even a research and conservation center where scientists from around the world study traditional Vietnamese cultures.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you’ll go on a 90km drive south of Hanoi to a place called Ninh Binh. This place used to be the capital city of ancient Vietnam before Hanoi became the capital in the 11th century.
Ninh Binh is famous for its beautiful sights, like the Tam Coc Caves and Hoa Lu, the ancient capital. Hoa Lu has old temples that are dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, who ruled in the 10th century.
Your visit to Ninh Binh will begin with a boat trip in Tam Coc. Here, you’ll see amazing limestone karsts that rise up from the green rice fields. This scenery is so stunning that it’s often compared to Guilin in China and Halong Bay in Vietnam, earning it the nickname “Halong Bay on Land.”
Next, you’ll explore more of Ninh Binh, including the site that was once the palace of the kings in the 10th century. Now, it’s famous for the beautiful wooden carvings in the shady Dinh and Le Temples.
In the late afternoon, you’ll head back to Hanoi, ending another exciting day in Vietnam.
Start your day with a tasty breakfast at the hotel. At 8:00 AM, a driver will pick you up and take you on a journey eastward for more than three hours to Halong Bay. Halong Bay is a Natural World Heritage site, recognized by UNESCO in 1994, and it is the pride of the Gulf of Tonkin.
During the drive, you’ll pass through the Red River Delta, where you’ll see green rice fields and rural villages. Here, hardworking farmers are busy with their daily tasks, using ploughing buffaloes or planting seedlings.
When you arrive in Halong, you’ll board a big boat to cruise around the bay and discover the breathtaking beauty of this “Descending-dragon” bay. The bay is filled with thousands of oddly shaped limestone rocks and karst grottoes.
You’ll enjoy a lunch of fresh seafood on the boat. After lunch, you’ll visit the Surprising Grotto, a fascinating cave with amazing rock formations. There will also be time to stop for swimming or kayaking, and you’ll pass by floating villages and islets to appreciate their beauty up close.
In the evening, you can join in on activities on the boat or relax at your own leisure. You’ll spend the night on the cruise near Titov Beach, making it a memorable day on the water.
Start your day with breakfast on the boat. After breakfast, you’ll visit Luon Cave by boat. Luon Cave is a beautiful, ring-shaped pool inside an island in Halong Bay, surrounded by a peaceful landscape and emerald-green water.
Next, you’ll return to the Wharf of Halong, passing through the busiest area with many fascinating islands. Some of these islands have unique names like Cock-Fighting Rock, Sail Island, Incense Burner Rock, and Sea Dog Rock.
You’ll arrive at Halong Wharf around 11:00 AM. From there, you’ll head back to Hanoi, arriving around 4:00 PM. Free until the driver pick up and take you to the airport for your flight to back home.
